The conversation went like this.
"I am making roast chicken for dinner." I declared.
"Thomas Keller or Tony Bourdain's recipe?" Mr J answered with excitement.
"None of the above. It's from the Australian Women Weekly."
He looked a little stunt. Didn't look very happy.
I get that some men are so spoiled. Once you pampered them with great chef's recipes, there is no turning back. They take it for granted.
The pictures on this post are not the best because of they were taken in a low light condition late in the evening. I wasn't sure if I wanted to post them but this is such a great roast chicken recipe that I am sure you will forgive the less than perfect shots.
Have a good weekend!

Pepper-Roasted Garlic and Lemon Chicken Recipe

Why does it look a bit of under-cooked for me? Beautiful pictures though.

Lovely!! Did Mr.J love it too in the end?
Love a good roast chicken. So simple yet so wholesome and satisfying =) Your husband may be spoilt by your cooking prowess but it's so endearing that he knows where your recipes come from!
I know exactly what you mean by a spoiled hubby! :D This chicken looks like a perfect meal for these cold days.
I love a good roasted chicken, Ellie, and this looks delectable. I also admire that you were able to get good photos of the chicken. I tried to once and it looked like the pics were of some kind of alien baby (smile)...
The chicken looks good and I agree that hubby are spoilt. Now, back to the kitchen I go.

Hi, I am a Malaysian and I like to visit your blog as you are so creative.
For this recipe, you have not indicated the amount of water that need to be used.
Kindly advise.
Thanks,
Amy
@ Amy: Thanks for visiting my blog! It's 1 cup (250 ml) of water. I have added it in the recipe.
@ Angie: The 2nd last picture shows the uncooked chicken. The rest are well cooked. The low light situation might have given the impressive that the chicken is not properly cooked.
The photos look great! And it is an easy roasted chicken recipe. I'm keen!
Oh my, Ellie! Who gives a rip about lighting - this chicken looks AND sounds fantastic!! YUM! YUM! I am so getting a whole chicken asap - I need to eat that crispy skin. :-)
perfect Ellie ... I'll be making this for sure!
Hah.. your hubs is spoilt by you.. of course. :P
Btw, the pix you posted is of a chicken not cooked yet right?
I think it looks still very nice even in low light. A lot of details.
