We clung on to the little hope we had, the faith we believed in.
Eight years on. I was making this rocky road with Miss C on Mother's Day. Celebrating this miracle that life brought to us, a blessing from God.

Happy belated mother's daym Ellie.
I can see the happiness, joy and love of a mother in your posts, Ellie!
I need a fried egg and white rice please.
I am so making these for my daughter. Will link back to your site when I do a post. What is a good substitute for char siu sauce...bbq sauce? Any other suggestions? I am reading an Aust. cooking book and mentions char siu sauce as well....
@ A Little Yumminess: I am sure your daughter will love it! BBQ sauce is a good replacement. Otherwise, hoisin sauce or oyster sauce can also be used.
That's such a heart-warming post.....really overjoyed by the miracle. Your daughter is very pretty and adorable. Wonderful to see a very happy family :D

It's really a touching post though you did not say a lot. The essence, the family photos, the food....say it all :D
What a beautiful post, a beautiful Kitchen Aid and a BEAUTIFUL daughter :) I am so glad that you were blessed in this way - I have watched my gorgeous SIL struggle for years to have her bub and understand the heartbreak involved in the waiting and uncertainty - I hope each Mothers Day is equally as special for you :)
@Sonia: Excited to hear that you are getting a KA soon! My advise if to choose a colour that match your kitchen because it is too heavy to keep it away.
Is this a little food blogger in the making. Great recipes and photos of you lovely family :)
aww, sweet :) Congrats on your new KA mixer :D
You've got a beautiful family, Ellie! Now if only you would be there to complete the picture :( Happy Mother's Day :D
P.S - I'm having major KA envy, that is one beautiful mixer!

That last photo of J and C is absolutely gorgeous Ellie. What a wonderful little miracle she is. Sounds like you were pampered (very deservedly so) on Mother's Day :)
Happy Anniversary! So sweet that your little one made you dinner. Thanks so much for sharing your story!
Your girl is so pretty. I understand what is like to have a special daughter like yours. I had mine after many years of waiting as well. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Your wings recipe looks simple and delicious. I've been cravings wings lately so I'll have to try your recipe. Your little girl is so pretty! What a wonderful post.
Your daughter is gorgeous. :) I'm very glad you hung in there and didn't give up hope.
On another note, I shall be making these chicken wings when it gets warmer here (if it ever happens that is!)
Happy Anniversary, Ellie & J. May you be blessed with many more happy years!
Miss C is so cute.
Oh Ellie, I'm so so so happy you have your girl AND your man! That initial news must have been so gutting and now you have a treasure. I'm smiling so big for you. :-)
Happy Anniversary to both J and you! Your dd is very photogenic, unlike my 5 yr old son who is camera shy and always likes to run away from my camera! How sweet and thoughtful of them to make dinner for you. Looks so yummy! I'm envy! Hehehe! You're right, they are our joy and make our life more meaning.
Mmm, my favourite bbq wings, good to have a creamy dessert after eating it!
Absolutely beautiful Ellie!
Bless you and your beautiful family (and blog). Am just very happy that you are all happy. :)
Such a sweet post Ellie! Those BBQ chicken wings look simply delicious. I hope you had a wonderful mothers day! :)
Both the food and the people are absolutely gorgeous Ellie! you are one lucky lady!
Wonderful post! Love the last pic!
Oh Ellie, happy mother's day again! And what a great way to break into the Kitchenaid stand mixer =) Life is just that little more special with loving people in your life.
Ellie, your daughter is so cute. She is going to break hearts in a few years time. If you were living in the 70s back in Msia, plus your daughter was older, you would be eating lots of hokkien mee for supper!
Congratulations to you and J on your anniversary. Your beautiful daughter C is a joy with her infectious laughter.
What a beautiful post Ellie. And your daughter looks like an angel! Happy belated Mothers' Day! And I have to say that dessert looks pretty awesome =)
What a gorgeous family - love that last photo!
And what a lucky family for having such a talented mum!
love the pic of Mr J and Miss C - great shot!!
And a happy anniversary to you.
This is a delicious dish :) Beautiful photos captured.. well done! x
Aww..... this is such a sweet post.. and she actually is able to cook something for you.
I'm waiting for mine to be able to do that. Right now, they'll 'order' for me from the helper. o.O"
Btw, it took me 5 yrs to try for my eldest too. I can imagine your anxiety. After her arrival, kind of 'cure' whatever I was having. The 2nd one came quite quickly when we tried for her. :)
Kids are a blessing aren't they?
Love the shot of father and daughter.
