This post cracked me up b/c it reminded me of my own background search. I have resorted to taking photos in my white kitchen sink, which gets lots of natural light. I like your idea of the white chair a lot better!
oh snap -- that's a perfect setup. Right now I'm using our laundry room, but we'll be losing our sunlight in another month or so, and I've been looking for another setup. It looks like there's a light source on the corner near the chair -- what are you using?
Such a great idea... I keep struggling to find backgrounds (and lighting, and angles... ) where my whites are bright, but not super-reflective. Think I need lots more practice!

What a great idea! I really should stage my photos better! (I don't think my granite benchtops are really *that* great lmao!
Hehe yes I think most people would be surprised to see our "studios"! :P
Nice work! Did you buy the chair specifically or was it already around the place?
You sure the chair wasn't called Eames DLSR chair? :P
Thats an awesome idea and the images turn out so fantastic. I think I'll have to buy myself a plain white chair now

That chair looks like a perfect background and the curved seat helps bounce light back. I just use plain old white posterboard and a reflector.
I reckon I should buy a white chair too, thanks for sharing with us such a great idea.
Fabulous idea! Thanks for posting it!
Haha sneaky sneaky! Actually I've done this before too, but I have black and wooden chairs so it doesn't look as good as yours when I do it :P
That's really clever, and it gets rid of the problem of random objects in the background too!

Too smart? Was the chair super expensive?!?

What a wonderful idea! A wise investment indeed for prolific food bloggers. Thanks for the tip! :)
Clever idea. A little too rich for my blood though. I'll stick to a couple of pieces of white posterboard!
"Please be seated"

I do this as well with a Styrofoam cooler. I turn it on it's side and place the food inside:-)
